Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ Frequently asked questions

FAQ about the aluminium dog tag with laser engraving

Answers about personalisation, laser engraving, readability, care, attachment and use of the dog tag.

What is an aluminium dog tag with laser engraving?

The dog tag is made from lightweight, anodised aluminium and is individually laser engraved with your chosen text. Your dog's name, phone number and other chosen information are directly visible on the tag.

The tag works entirely without digital technology and contains no QR code, WebApp, battery or electronics.

What information can I have engraved on the dog tag?

You can engrave information such as your dog's name, a phone number with international dialling code, the owner's name or a short note such as “Please call”.

Short and clearly worded information is particularly easy to read and can be quickly understood when needed.

How many lines of text can be engraved?

For the best possible readability, we recommend a maximum of four short lines of text. The available font size depends on the amount of text and the selected font.

The shorter the engraving text, the larger and clearer it can generally be displayed.

Which font is best for a dog tag?

Clear, easy-to-read fonts are particularly suitable for laser engraving. Simple or bolder fonts without fine decorative details remain easier to read even at smaller sizes.

How durable is laser engraving on aluminium?

The laser engraving is designed for normal everyday use on a dog collar. Heavy scratches, continuous abrasion, aggressive chemicals or intensive mechanical stress may affect the surface and reduce readability over time.

Check the engraving regularly and replace the dog tag if important contact information is no longer clearly legible.

How do I clean and care for the aluminium dog tag?

Clean the dog tag when necessary with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft cloth or soft brush. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents and excessive pressure on the engraved surface.

The aluminium dog tag is not suitable for washing machines.

How is the dog tag attached to the collar?

The dog tag is attached to the collar using a suitable attachment ring. Regularly check the ring for a secure fit, deformation and signs of wear.

Never attach the dog leash to the dog tag ring. The ring is intended exclusively for attaching the tag.

Does the engraved dog tag require an app, battery or internet connection?

No. The personal information is engraved directly into the aluminium dog tag and can be read without a smartphone or any technical device.

The tag requires no app, battery, electronics or internet connection.
